The company, headquartered in London (United Kingdom), is a leading Manufacturer and Exporter of Natural Health products across many countries. Due to a rationalization of global supply chain activities and manufacturing sites, we managed the integration of inbound and outbound flows across suppliers in Europe and customers worldwide. The challenge was to maintain production volumes with high global demand while ensure the optimization of physical flows across borders with related informational requirements.
The Supply Chain Problem.
The four corners of supply chain performance were to be addressed as swiftly as possible and at the lowest cost. The 4 pillars were: Stock availability, logistics agility, supply chain customer experience, costs & economics. Back-orders due to limited alignment between manufacturing and demand planning as well as slow cross-department communication channels, were a key problem in the way the business was planning its growth trajectory for the next 5 years. Agility in the way the company was delivering products to markets globally was also under the scrutiny of senior management. Finally, customer experience and costs were 2 further elements to address and optimize in methodology as well as in performance, both for the present and fo the foreseeable future.
